Course Closed!

As I write this I've just changed the course status message to "COURSE CLOSED" for the 3,758th time this winter... At least it feels like that!

Surely the man upstairs has got an absolutely cracking summer lined up for us to balance things out like it was in 2018 - Let's hope so! At least the golfing season really gets going this week with the first World Golf Championship Event in Mexico. Tommy tees it up for the first time since Dubai and reports from my old man suggest he's in with a great chance, his practice has gone well! He'll be first to play his approach shots over the first two days as he's drawn with two absolute "Bombers" in Rory McIlroy and Gary Woodland!

Those of you who have taken advantage of my fantastic TaylorMade offer will no doubt be watching with interest to assess his form in the lead up to The Masters! Those who haven't taken advantage yet, now is the time to book your fitting and treat yourself to some extra distance and accuracy.

Pro's Winter Series

No Mexican sunshine about for the warriors that endured last week’s conditions in The Pro's Winter Series, a 10 hole event on account of... you guessed it... more rain!

It was great to see a new name in the winner's enclosure with Pete Spence chalking up his first win of the campaign with a highly impressive 25 points. Nobody got near him on the week with "Mr Consistent" John Parry coming 2nd on 22 points. No change at the top of the league though with Lee Nichol still leading the way.

Next week is a big week, it's DOUBLE POINTS week again and it maybe a make or break week for the chasing pack!

Keep a grip on it

A recent golf survey highlighted some very interesting statistics regarding golfers' habits and their equipment, two of which you can see in the image below.

These stats might not mean a lot to you at face value, but the general recommendation is that you change your grips once a year, especially if you play regular golf.

The truth is, grips lose their efficiency over time and when they do we end up gripping the club too tightly, which restricts our ability to swing the club freely. Just something for you to think about...
