Welcome to the latest "Self Isolation Weekly". As we head towards May and after 5 weeks of lockdown, there are positive noises coming from certain quarters of golf to make me think we might just be golfing again a bit sooner than I first thought. I certainly hope so!! Let's keep fingers well and truly crossed!! My lockdown weekend was eventful! How on earth do 3 kids riding bikes manage to have a total of 4 falls and a crash between them in two journeys?? Evie is still limping (milking it a bit now though!) from the crash she had when she decided to overtake Bella then slam on the brakes leaving Bella to plough into the back of her! Both ended up on the floor!! Dan tried to wheelie a pothole........epic fail!! Evie went again turning in to the driveway, narrowly avoiding my car and then it was Dan's turn again when they went out a day later and he skidded on some gravel and gashed his knee. Bella and Dan's Mum probably thought they'd been in a fight when I dropped them off on Sunday night!!! I went for a walk around the course yesterday and it was great to see members out there patrolling and looking after our greatest asset. There's been some horror stories of vandalism of golf courses around the country so it's important that we keep a presence at the club as much as possible to deter the undesirables. It looks like the course will get some much-needed rain this week........CAN'T BELIEVE I'M ACTUALLY SAYING THAT!!!!!! It's true though, the course will welcome it like a draught pint, mmmmmmm, draught pints.....who remembers them??? A bit of rain will bring the place on a treat and make it all the better when the green light finally comes. This week we have part two of the GUESS THE HOLES quiz for your enjoyment. Once you have your 30 answers please email or text you answers to me. Number for texting is 07919 281514.
